A lesson in speed

5 Steps For Longer Drives.

1. Find Your Benchmark Length of Backswing & Start To Impact

  1. Turn on deWiz
  2. Enter Discovery Mode
  3. Drag Length of Backswing and Start to Impact to the top
  4. Make 5 "Normal" driver swings
  5. Find your average Length of Backswing and Start to Impact Time

Make Your Swing Longer

Now that you know your average Length of Backswing. In this example we'll say it's 130 cm.

  1. Enter Practice and Learn and Length of Backswing
  2. Set the Threshold 20 cm over your benchmark so 150 cm
  3. Swing without a ball until you reach 150 cm
  4. Add a ball and hit 150 cm in Length of Backswing

Make Your Swing Faster

New Goal: Get your Start to Impact time < 1 second.

  1. Enter Discovery Mode and drag Start to Impact to the top
  2. Go fast out the gate to quicken up your backswing duration
  3. Keep swinging until you reach <1 second in Start to Impact Time

Put It Together

Next up: Put it together. Your goal is to maintain your "New" Length of Backswing, in this case 150 cm and keep Start to Impact under 1 second.

  1. Enter Discovery Mode and drag Start to Impact and Length of Backswing to the top
  2. Go fast out the gate and maintain your Length of Swing
  3. Practice until you reach > 150 cm and < 1 second

5. Watch Your Club Head Speed Soar!

And Voila! Find the Driver Club Head Speed on your first "Normal" swing and compare that to you last Swing. You have most certainly added tons of Club Head Speed AND Distance!
